The Old Village of Vernazza

The Municipality is part of the National Park of the Cinque Terre with its coast located in a protected area and the fishing regulated by strict rules to protect the its ecosystem.
The Cave Maemuna is a crack in the cliff that allows access only by sea up to fifty meters in the same cave, and a great place for lovers of diving for its crystal clear waters. Locally, a diving center will advise you at best for the most appropriate equipment and give advice to dive safely. Vernazza is also equipped with a small port that can accommodate up to two hundred boats.
Area full of alternative routes
In Vernazza there are paths that connect the coastal towns of the Cinque Terre, all reachable with just over an hour’s walk from the town center as, for example, the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Reggio located near a ridge and, a little more in there, along the path, the Chapel of San Bernardo. The whole route is also enlivened by the presence of olive trees and vines that on these hills express their maximum beauty as far from the winds and with an excellent exposure to sunlight to give life to the tasty white wine and liqueur wine of Cinque Terre known as the “Sciacchetrà”.
